Nearly 100 US troops have sustained injuries during the past two weeks of escalating US-Iran attacks. Three US soldiers have lost their lives in the Iranian attacks last week. Pentagon announced this important statement today.
Pentagon spokesperson Sean Parnell said most injured personnel suffered minor concussions during Iranian attacks. He added that 96% of those injured have already returned to work.
The comments came after The New York Times reported that the Pentagon had withheld information about injuries caused by Iranian strikes.
However, Parnell denied the claim and said the US military had not concealed data about injured troops.
Iran has continued retaliatory attacks against American military positions across Gulf countries as tensions between Washington and Tehran intensify.
US suffers battlefield deaths
Meanwhile, three US service members have died in combat during the past week. Two US soldiers were killed in Jordan, while another service member died in Iraq.
The latest casualties came as Iran targeted American military facilities across the region in response to US strikes against Iranian targets.
