Actor Nawal Saeed has opened up about marriage, relationships, career choices and the realities of working in Pakistanโs entertainment industry.
In a recent interview, the actor shared candid thoughts about finding a life partner while also reflecting on her experiences within showbiz.
She explained that choosing a career allows people to change direction, learn new skills and explore different opportunities over time.
However, she believes marriage involves a far more serious decision because there is no simple way to predict another personโs future behaviour.
โChoosing a partner is a much more difficult decision than choosing a career. In a career, you can always learn new things or switch paths, but choosing a life partner isn’t that simple; you never know how someone will turn out,โ she said.
Nawalโs comments offered a glimpse into her cautious approach toward marriage, particularly when compared with the flexibility available through professional choices.
While careers can evolve with experience, she suggested that choosing someone to share a lifetime with requires considerably more thought.
Nawal Saeed Wants a Partner Outside the Entertainment Industry
When asked about her own preferences, Nawal made it clear that she would rather choose someone outside showbiz.
Although the entertainment industry remains a major part of her professional life, she appears to prefer keeping her personal relationships separate.
โI would choose somebody who is not in the industry,โ she said.
Her preference comes as actors often face intense public attention, making personal relationships particularly difficult to keep away from scrutiny.
For Nawal, therefore, having a partner outside the industry could provide greater separation between her professional responsibilities and personal life.
She did not suggest that relationships between fellow actors cannot succeed, but simply expressed her preference for someone from outside showbiz.
Nawal Saeed Shares Her Experience on Set
Alongside marriage and relationships, Nawal also discussed what it is like working with fellow actors on television projects.
Despite the competitive nature of the industry, she described her experience on set as largely positive and collaborative.
She also addressed a common perception about male actors spending several hours preparing for television shoots.
According to Nawal, she has not personally seen male actors spending two or three hours getting ready before appearing on camera.
โI don’t see anyone taking two to three hours to get ready. It’s just a thought process built up in people’s minds. Men don’t have that much room on their face to spend hours on makeup anyway,โ she said.
Her response challenged an assumption that she believes has gradually become part of public perception surrounding actors and television productions.
Rather than accepting that idea, Nawal offered her own experience from working alongside actors on different sets.
Performance Matters More Than Competition
Competition between actors is often discussed when successful performers work within the same industry.
However, Nawal appeared to take a more straightforward view of the issue, saying audiences ultimately respond to the quality of an actorโs performance.
โEveryone is working hard and doing good work. The audience accepts actors because of their performance,โ she said.
Her comments suggest that she does not view competition as the defining factor behind an actorโs success.
Instead, she believes consistent performances and hard work can determine whether audiences connect with a particular actor.
This perspective also places greater emphasis on talent and dedication than on comparisons between performers working in the same field.
The Onscreen Chemistry That Impressed Nawal
Nawal also spoke about onscreen chemistry and some of the television pairings that have particularly caught her attention.
Among the projects she recalled fondly was Sadqay Tumhare, which starred Mahira Khan and Adnan Malik.
โAdnan Malik and Mahira were very good together,โ she said.
When asked about current onscreen chemistry, Nawal highlighted another popular pairing featuring Bilal Abbas Khan and Hania Aamir.
โThey look really good together onscreen. But generally, when actors perform well, they naturally make a great pair,โ she said.
Her response again returned to the importance of performance when discussing successful onscreen partnerships.
According to Nawal, convincing chemistry does not simply depend on two actors appearing together on screen.
Instead, strong performances can naturally create the connection that audiences recognise and appreciate.
Nawal Admits She Regrets Discussing an Earlier Controversy
The actor also revisited an earlier controversy and acknowledged that she should not have discussed the matter publicly.
Her comments suggested that she now views the decision differently after considering the attention the controversy generated.
โI think it was a mistake from my side. I should not have spoken about it publicly,โ she said.
The statement appeared to refer to comments Nawal made during a television appearance in 2023.
At the time, she revealed that several Pakistani cricketers had sent messages to her Instagram account.
She said some of the players had contacted her with compliments through direct messages.
Nawal did not identify the cricketers by name, but criticised the behaviour while referring to their responsibilities as national-team players.
She also told them to โfocus on cricketโ instead, a remark that quickly attracted attention online.
The comments subsequently became a topic of discussion and generated widespread reactions across social media.
Looking back, however, Nawal now believes that speaking about the matter publicly was not the right decision.
Her latest remarks therefore offer a more reflective perspective on an incident that previously attracted considerable public attention.
Nawal Saeedโs Television Career
Nawal Saeed began her television career in 2017, when she appeared in a supporting role in Yaqeen Ka Safar.
She gradually gained wider recognition through several television projects, building her profile among Pakistani drama audiences.
Her subsequent work included Faryaad in 2020 and Banno in 2021, followed by Dil-e-Veeran in 2022.
She also appeared in Jaan-e-Jahan, adding another prominent project to her television career.
Over the years, Nawal has continued to develop her acting career while navigating the attention that accompanies life in the public eye.
Her latest interview provided a more personal look at the thoughts behind her professional and personal choices.
From marriage and relationships to competition and onscreen chemistry, she addressed several subjects connected to her life as an actor.
Most importantly, Nawalโs comments showed a willingness to reflect on decisions that once attracted public attention.
For the actor, choosing a career may involve uncertainty, but choosing the right life partner carries consequences that can last much longer.
