Pakistani Muslim families pray beside the graves of their relatives to mark Shab-e-Barat or the night of forgiveness in Karachi on June 2, 2015. Muslims believe that if someone prays to God throughout the night and seeks forgiveness for all the sins he may have committed, he could be forgiven. The entire night of prayer is devoted to asking for forgiveness for the past year and for good fortune in the year to come. AFP PHOTO/Asif HASSAN

Villagers’ fear hikes as graves found open and empty

In Korai village of Dera Ismail Khan, people have been rivetted with fear ever since three graves were found opened and the bodies missing.

According to a local social worker Malik Sanaullah, three graves were found open and empty in the Siddique Ahmad Cemetery. As per various accounts, a body of a girl child was found lying in the fields of the same village in Dera Ismail Khan.

Some villagers believe that this was done by animals who had not only opened the graves but pulled out the bodies.

However, in the same context, a meeting was called in the village to review the situation and explore ways for resolution of the issue. The police were also notified but the action is yet to be taken.

In a different setting in Dera Ismail Khan, three rare deer have gone missing, allegedly stolen from DI Khan’s wildlife park. The wildlife department of KP has confirmed this incident and investigations have already begun.

In a statement given by Saddar police SHO Kashif Sattar, multiple people who have allegedly been traced for involvement have been arrested which also included two guards who worked at the park.

These people are currently being held for investigation and no conclusive evidence has been attached.
