The NHA is set to introduce a helicopter rescue service for motorways

The National Highway Authority (NHA) plans to launch a helicopter rescue service to offer rapid medical assistance to individuals injured in motorway accidents. This new service will complement the existing 1122 emergency helpline, ensuring prompt support for victims.

The overseeing minister has also instructed the NHA to implement both short-term and long-term strategies to enhance road safety. Emphasis has been placed on transparency in the use of government funds.

To improve operations, the NHA will introduce modern toll collection systems and develop a National Transport Policy.
