Security forces successfully thwarted an infiltration attempt by Tehreek-e-Taliban Pakistan (TTP) militants, also known as Khawarij, along the Pakistan-Afghanistan border in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa. The military’s media wing reported that four terrorists were killed during two separate operations on Sunday.
According to a statement from the Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR), the militants tried to infiltrate through North Waziristan. Security forces quickly responded, killing two of the attackers and injuring two others.
Following the initial engagement, intelligence reports led to a second operation in the Spinwam area of North Waziristan, where another exchange of fire resulted in the deaths of two more terrorists.
The army confirmed that a clearance operation is ongoing in the region to ensure the area is secure and to eliminate any remaining militants. “Pakistan’s security forces remain resolute in their mission to safeguard the nation’s borders and root out terrorism,” the ISPR statement concluded.
