Security Forces Eliminate 8 Khwarij; Two Soldiers Martyred in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Operations

Security forces have killed eight Khwarij militants and martyred two soldiers, including Captain Muhammad Zohaibuddin, during separate operations in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (KP) over the past 24 hours. Ongoing sanitisation operations are continuing in the region to eliminate any remaining militants.

According to the Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR), the first operation took place on November 30, 2024, in Baka Khel, Bannu District, based on intelligence reports about Khwarij activities in the area. The security forces targeted the militants’ hideout, resulting in the death of five militants and the injury of nine others. During the exchange of fire, Sepoy Iftikhar Hussain, 29, from District Jhang, was martyred.

In a second operation, security forces engaged Khwarij militants in the Shagai area of Khyber District, killing three militants and capturing two. During this operation, Captain Muhammad Zohaibuddin, 25, from Lahore, who was leading his troops, embraced martyrdom in the intense firefight. The militants involved had carried out numerous terrorist activities targeting both security forces and civilians.

The sanitisation efforts are ongoing to eliminate any remaining Khwarij fighters. These operations reinforce the security forces’ commitment to eradicating terrorism from the country.

Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif and Interior Minister Mohsin Naqvi lauded the bravery of the security forces in their fight against terrorism. Both leaders offered condolences to the family of Captain Zohaibuddin, with the Prime Minister stating that the captain’s sacrifice would be remembered in history as a symbol of dedication and courage.
