SEARCH UNDERWAY FOR ‘NON-POLITICAL’ PEOPLE TO FILL KHYBER PAKHTUNKHWA CARETAKER CABINET

ISLAMABAD: Various personalities are currently being contacted for potential inclusion as caretaker ministers in the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa caretaker cabinet, with the ongoing clearance process for these individuals.

Efforts are underway to identify completely non-political individuals constitute the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa cabinet.

However, key figures in the province are actively engaging in communication to establish the new interim cabinet.

Upon obtaining consent from these personalities to join the caretaker cabinet, provincial institutions have initiated the security clearance process.

Additionally, advisers and special assistants will not be part of the caretaker cabinet, adhering to the stipulations of the 18th Constitutional Amendment, which mandates a maximum of 15 ministers in the caretaker cabinet.

Furthermore, the finalization of names for the new caretaker cabinet is anticipated to take place next week, according to reports.

Earlier this year, in January, members of the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (KP) caretaker cabinet were sworn in.

The oath-taking ceremony for cabinet members was administered by KP Governor Haji Ghulam Ali at the Governor House in Peshawar.

The caretaker cabinet was composed of individuals with diverse backgrounds, including former senators and other prominent figures.

Among them were former MNA Abdul Haleem Qasoriya, former MNA Hamid Shah, former inspector general of the police Syed Masood Shah, former Senator Zafran, and former Senator Taj Mohammad Afridi.

Additionally, Advocate Sawal Nazir, Bakht Nawaz, Fazal Elahi, Adnan Jalil, Shafiullah, Shahid Khan, Malik Khushdil Khan, Mohammed Ali Shah, Justice (R) Irshad Qaiser, and Manzoor Khan Afridi were also part of the caretaker KP cabinet.

On January 18, the KP governor dissolved the provincial assembly following approval of the summary submitted by former KP chief minister Mahmood Khan.
