A suspected hitman connected to the Muttahida Qaumi Movement-London (MQM-L) was reportedly apprehended by Sindh Rangers and police on Thursday in Karachi.
The suspect, named as Waseem Javed aka Waseem Boss, was detained at Liaquatabad in Karachi during a combined operation between the paramilitary forces and Sindh police, according to a statement from a Sindh Rangers spokeswoman.
According to the statement, the Research and Analysis Wing (RAW) in India is where the suspect received his military training. The allegedly MQM-L terrorist who was apprehended was wanted for terrible crimes like murder, terrorism, extortion, and others.
Additionally, weapons and ammunition have been found in the custody of the detained suspect. Waseem Javed admitted his role in the terror activities in Karachi in 2013, according to the statement.
Waseem fled the nation after the 2013 operation in Karachi began, but was apprehended on the tip-off as soon as he arrived back in Karachi, according to a Rangers spokesperson.
Earlier in August, the Muttahida Qaumi Movement-London (MQM-L) claimed responsibility for a major weapons cache that Sindh Rangers stormed and recovered from a storage site.
