Ramadan Countdown Begins, Only 22 Days Left!

Ramadan Countdown Begins, Only 22 Days Left!

The Islamic Hijri (lunar) calendar considers Ramadan to be the holiest and most sacred month.

Muslims believe that during this holy month, the archangel Gabriel descended from heaven and revealed the Message to the Prophet Muhammad.

Muslims are required to increase their level of spiritual and physical submission to God during Ramadan by fasting; this entails refraining from eating, drinking, smoking, and intimate contact between husband and wife from dawn until dusk.

Ramadan dates and calendar 2023

The lunar calendar predicts that in Pakistan, Ramadan 2023 will most likely fall on Wednesday, March 22, 2023. Naturally, the dates will be confirmed as Ramadan approaches.

However, according to tradition, a moon-sighting committee made up of religious scholars, astronomers, and other authorities must establish the precise date of the start of the holy month while it is still dark.

The committee is in charge of keeping an eye out for specific sightings related to the cycle and appearance of the new crescent moon, which marks the beginning of Ramadan.

Rules for Ramzan
During Ramadan, it is forbidden to consume food or beverages in public in Pakistan. Both private and public offices fall under this. In addition to facing severe fines and penalties, breaking this law could land you in jail for up to three months in the worst scenarios.

You are only allowed to eat in your home, behind closed doors, if you are not keeping the fast.

Even more so during Ramadan, when people are more mindful of modesty and piety, it is advised to dress conservatively in Pakistan throughout the year.

Both men and women should avoid wearing clothing that is too tight or too revealing.

When in public, shoulders and knees must always be covered.
