In response to the escalating smog crisis, the Punjab government has implemented several emergency measures, including declaring a health emergency in Lahore and Multan.

- A strict ban on heavy traffic entry in these cities to curb pollution levels.

- Dining in at restaurants will only be permitted until 4 PM, followed by takeaway services. All eateries must close entirely by 8 PM.

- Construction activities in Lahore and Multan are prohibited from Friday, with an exception for national-level projects.
- Medical staff holidays have been canceled, and hospital outpatient departments (OPDs) will operate until 8 PM daily.
