Hashim Dogar, the home minister for Punjab, declared on Wednesday that because Imran Khan’s long march is a political issue, the provincial government will become a part of it.
“If Imran Khan announces a long march then the Punjab government will not become part of it. We will not facilitate the participants of the long march but security will be provided,” Said Hashim Dogar.
The Punjab home minister made the announcement after PTI Chairman Imran Khan ordered party officials to ensure that thousands of party members gather in Islamabad for the “Azadi March.”
According to sources, Khan’s instructions were given to district heads of Gujranwala, Narowal, Hafizabad, Mandi Bahauddin, and Gujrat during a meeting.
6,000 workers from Gujranwala, the same amount from Sialkot and Gujrat, 5,000 from Mandi Bahauddin, and 4,000 from each Hafizabad and Narowal, according to the PTI chairman’s remarks to the local leaders.
Imran Khan’s long march was described as a “political matter” by the home minister of Punjab, who also said that the province administration would not utilise state resources to support it.
It’s interesting to note that the central government’s ruling coalition has also urged the Punjab and Khyber Pakhtunkhwa administrations to refrain from aiding in the creation of turmoil in the nation.
In response to the subject of the alleged abuse of PTI leader Shahbaz Gill while in police detention, Dogar stated: “I still stand by my point that he was not subjected to torture. The matter is in court let’s see what happens.”
