PTI leader Barrister Gohar Ali Khan has emphasized that the intended letter to the IMF will be in the national interest and will not compromise the country’s well-being. Speaking to the media outside Adiala Jail in Rawalpindi, Barrister Gohar highlighted the importance of transparency in legal proceedings and the need for an open trial.
Criticizing the caretaker government, he alleged a failure to ensure fair and transparent elections, specifically pointing out the election commission’s shortcomings in releasing results under Form 47. This raised concerns about the authenticity of the electoral process.
Barrister Gohar drew attention to the demands for protection for former commissioner Liaquat Ali Chattha and his family, citing potential threats to their safety. He claimed that the recently issued Form 47s were fake but reassured that the party’s lawmakers would participate in parliament and not flee.
Regarding the supposed letter to the IMF, Gohar stated it would be written in the national interest on Friday evening. He emphasized that the PTI would not take any measures detrimental to the state or its people, advocating for the rule of law and the supremacy of the Constitution in the country.
Reiterating PTI’s commitment to democracy, Gohar cited the incarceration of PTI’s founder as evidence of their dedication to democratic principles. He concluded by highlighting the party’s contributions, such as the Sehat Card and panahgahs (shelter homes), and expressed confidence that their actions would not harm the state, democracy, or the law.
