PTA issues warning against Indian hackers trying to steal Pakistani Data

The Pakistan Telecommunication Authority (PTA) has issued a warning that Indian hackers are attempting to steal data from Pakistani diplomatic missions around the world.

Virus-infected emails were sent to Pakistani missions in Brunei, Nepal, Argentina, and Azerbaijan.

According to the PTA, the attack’s goal is to steal consulate data and conduct espionage.

The diplomatic staff must receive training on managing shady emails and social engineering, according to the authority.

According to the PTA, the cyber gang spreads malware and noxious URLs via emails. According to the authorities, they give victims links to websites that mimic official government websites in an effort to get them to click on them.

The institutions have been requested by the authority to identify phoney and suspicious websites as well as email addresses used in malicious activities.
