Prohibited Funding Case: Imran Khan seeks pre-arrest bail

Imran Khan, a former prime minister and the chairman of the Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI), filed a pre-arrest bail application in the prohibited funding case at the sessions court in Islamabad.

The Federal Investigation Agency (FIA) filed a case under the Foreign Exchange Act against Imran Khan and 10 other PTI members a week ago.

Imran Khan’s protective bail until October 18 has already been allowed by the Islamabad High Court. He has since entered a petition for pre-arrest bail in the lower court.

The central court’s special judge received the pre-arrest bail application.

The FIR makes it evident that I am innocent, and since the case was deliberately filed against me, bail should be granted, he argued in his appeal.

It stated that the PTI had appealed the electoral commission’s decision in the matter involving unlawful funding to the Islamabad High Court.
