Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif underscored the significance of the deep-rooted brotherly relations between Pakistan and Saudi Arabia, expressing gratitude for the kingdom’s unwavering support in helping Pakistan achieve economic revival and stability.

During a meeting with Saudi Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman on the sidelines of the eighth Future Investment Initiative (FII) session in Riyadh, PM Shehbaz acknowledged the crucial role Saudi Arabia continues to play in Pakistan’s economic plans.

The two leaders reviewed ongoing bilateral engagements, particularly the progress made in follow-up to the decisions taken during previous high-level meetings held in Makkah and Riyadh earlier this year.

Highlighting his government’s economic, institutional, and policy reforms, PM Shehbaz emphasized the central role the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia holds in shaping Pakistan’s economic future. He further appreciated Saudi Arabia’s efforts in promoting peace and stability in the Middle East and reaffirmed Pakistan’s commitment to supporting these initiatives.

The leaders also discussed regional developments, agreeing to closely coordinate on issues of mutual concern. In a gesture of goodwill, PM Shehbaz conveyed his best wishes for the health and wellbeing of King Salman bin Abdulaziz Al-Saud, Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques.

On social media, PM Shehbaz expressed his gratitude for Saudi Arabia’s vital support in securing the International Monetary Fund (IMF) program, highlighting the longstanding and time-tested nature of Pakistan’s relationship with the Kingdom.

He praised the hospitality extended by Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman and emphasized their productive discussions, which covered various sectors, including trade, investment, culture, technology, and innovation. The prime minister reaffirmed the shared commitment to strengthening ties between the two nations.

PM Shehbaz is currently attending the two-day Future Investment Initiative (FII) in Riyadh, where global leaders have gathered to discuss the theme “Infinite Horizons: Investing Today, Shaping Tomorrow.”

The conference addresses pressing global issues such as artificial intelligence, robotics, education, energy, space, healthcare, and sustainability. Participating countries, including Pakistan, are engaging in discussions aimed at fostering investment and building a sustainable future.

During a plenary session, PM Shehbaz invited international firms to invest in Pakistan, emphasizing the country’s readiness to collaborate with global partners in building a future rooted in resilience and shared prosperity. He pointed out that no nation can tackle modern challenges alone and that collective global efforts are essential for shaping a brighter future.

The prime minister stressed the importance of transitioning to a knowledge-based economy driven by innovation in areas such as artificial intelligence, education, and healthcare. He outlined Pakistan’s transformative journey toward resilience, stability, and growth, sharing the country’s ambition to excel in AI and lead innovation across industries.

PM Shehbaz expressed Pakistan’s commitment to nurturing young talent in artificial intelligence, training skilled engineers and data scientists, and equipping the workforce to harness AI’s potential. He emphasized that AI is not merely a trend but a force revolutionizing economies and societies.

On healthcare, the prime minister highlighted the significant advancements Pakistan’s healthcare sector has made, with over 275,000 registered doctors and a growing youth-driven health-tech industry.

He envisioned cross-border collaborations in fields like genome sequencing and personalized medicine, which could transform healthcare systems and improve global health outcomes. By pooling resources and fostering partnerships, PM Shehbaz aims to build a healthier and more prosperous future for Pakistan and its global partners.
