KARACHI: President Asif Ali Zardari has tested positive for COVID-19 and is currently in isolation, his physician Dr. Asim Hussain confirmed today.
Dr. Hussain stated that the president is receiving medical care from infectious disease specialists at a private hospital. “Due to his condition, all meetings with the president have been strictly prohibited,” he added.
He further assured that President Zardari is under close medical supervision, with multiple tests conducted to monitor his health. “The medical team is ensuring round-the-clock observation to manage his condition effectively,” he said.
Zardari was transferred to a private hospital in Karachi from Nawabshah after experiencing health issues.
Meanwhile, Sindh Senior Minister Sharjeel Memon refuted reports about the severity of Zardari’s condition, stating that the president’s health was improving.
In a statement, Memon dismissed claims that Zardari was being moved to Dubai for treatment, assuring that he would make a full recovery soon.
Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif also inquired about President Zardari’s health via a telephone call.
