Parliamentary Secretaries

Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif on Friday announced the appointment of 20 lawmakers as parliamentary secretaries in a move aimed at strengthening the parliamentary process and ensuring effective governance.

These appointments are part of the government’s broader strategy to enhance legislative oversight and improve coordination between the executive and parliament.

Among the newly appointed parliamentary secretaries are several prominent figures, including Sajid Mehdi, Ahmed Atiq Anwar, Usama Sarwar, Mian Khan Bugti, Aamir Talal, Farah Naz Akbar, Shizra Mansab, Saba Sadiq, Daniyal Chaudhry, and Kiran Imran Dar.

Their inclusion reflects a diverse mix of lawmakers from various regions and backgrounds, ensuring representation across different constituencies.

Other key appointees include Dr. Danish, Wajiha Qamar, Usman Awaisi, Shahid Usman, Anwarul Haq Chaudhry, Kheal Das, Zeb Jaffar, and Shamsher Ali Mazari.

Additionally, Azhar Khan Leghari and Gul Asghar Khan have also been appointed as parliamentary secretaries. The official notification confirming their appointments has been issued, marking the formal start of their roles.

These appointments are expected to enhance the government’s ability to implement its legislative agenda and improve the communication between ministers and lawmakers.

As parliamentary secretaries, these lawmakers will assist in policy implementation, provide input on critical national issues, and ensure that the government’s priorities are reflected in legislative processes.

PM Shehbaz Reaffirms Pakistan’s Sovereignty

Earlier this week, Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif, while addressing a gathering at the General Headquarters (GHQ) in Rawalpindi on the occasion of Defence and Martyrs Day, reaffirmed Pakistan’s unwavering commitment to its sovereignty.

He emphasized that the nation would never compromise on its sovereignty and territorial integrity, stressing the importance of peace and stability for national progress.

“The sovereignty of Pakistan is non-negotiable,” PM Shehbaz declared. He underscored that Pakistan’s borders are a symbol of peace and that the country remains dedicated to fostering peaceful relations with its neighbors. “Nations achieve prosperity through peace, and maintaining peace is our topmost priority,” he added.

PM Shehbaz also highlighted Pakistan’s pivotal role in regional stability, especially in its efforts to combat terrorism. He noted that the country had made significant sacrifices in its fight against terrorism, contributing to global security.

“Pakistan has always played a positive role in upholding stability in the region,” he said, pointing to the nation’s ongoing efforts to eliminate the threat of terrorism.

As the prime minister concluded his remarks, he paid tribute to the armed forces and the martyrs who had laid down their lives in defense of the country. He reiterated that Pakistan would continue to strive for peace while remaining vigilant in safeguarding its sovereignty.
