Following his arrival from Islamabad in Toronto, Canada on Pakistan International Airlines (PIA), a steward mysteriously vanished from a hotel.
According to the PIA management, flight attendant Aijaz Ali Shah took PK-781 of the national carrier to go from Islamabad to Toronto.
He had been residing in a hotel in the Canadian city with other team members.
His coworkers learned of his absence only when he failed to report for duty on a flight back to Pakistan on October 16. Following that, the airline management and Canadian immigration authorities were made aware of the situation.
The national airline’s flight attendants have previously entered Canada under false pretences to get citizenship.
An air steward for Pakistan International Airlines (PIA) was reported missing in Canada last year upon the arrival of flight PK-798 in Toronto, which was confirmed by the airline authority.
The PIA spokeswoman verified that Ramzan Gul, a flight attendant, boarded the national flag carrier’s flight out of Islamabad in his position as an aircraft crew.
According to PIA officials, they also alerted the Canadian immigration office of developments as crew members received General Declaration clearance and when one of them really went missing, the immigration authority was required to be notified.
