Terrorist Attack
Pakistan has strongly condemned the deadly terrorist attack in Turkiye that claimed the lives of at least five people on Wednesday, denouncing it as a cowardly act of violence.
The attack took place at the headquarters of Turkish Aerospace Industries (TUSAŞ) near Ankara, where two armed assailants launched a brutal assault, killing five individuals and leaving 22 others injured.
Eyewitnesses reported hearing gunfire, followed by a loud explosion that shook the facility.
Turkish Interior Minister Ali Yerlikaya confirmed the incident, describing it as a terrorist attack. The minister also confirmed that the two attackers responsible for the violence were killed.
Of the 22 injured, three remain in critical condition, receiving urgent medical care. Television footage captured the moments when the attackers stormed the TUSAŞ facility, leaving a trail of devastation in their wake.
In response to this tragic event, Pakistan’s foreign office issued a statement earlier today, offering heartfelt condolences to the victims’ families and wishing a swift recovery for those wounded in the attack.
Pakistan reiterated its strong support for Turkiye’s ongoing efforts to combat terrorism, emphasizing that the country stands firmly by the Turkish people during this difficult time.
The statement also reaffirmed Pakistan’s unwavering solidarity with Turkiye, underscoring the deep and long-standing bond between the two nations.
President Asif Ali Zardari also voiced his condemnation of the attack, expressing solidarity with the Turkish government and its citizens. “We extend our deepest condolences to the families of those who have lost their lives in this cowardly attack,” President Zardari said.
He further stressed that terrorism in all its forms is a global menace, one that Pakistan, having endured its own battles against terrorism, understands all too well.
He highlighted the pain and suffering caused by such brutal acts and emphasized the need for united efforts by the international community to eradicate terrorism and secure a peaceful future.
Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif echoed similar sentiments, taking to social media to express his condolences. “My heartfelt condolences go out to my dear brother President Recep Tayyip Erdogan and the people of Turkey.
Pakistan stands in complete solidarity with our Turkish brothers,” he said in a message on X (formerly known as Twitter).
Both Pakistani leaders reinforced the notion that terrorists are enemies of peace and humanity, and that international cooperation is essential to combating this global threat.
Pakistan’s message to Turkiye during this difficult time reflects the shared commitment of both nations to fight terrorism and uphold peace and stability in the region.
