Islamabad: The Pakistan Navy (PN) showcased its combat readiness and warfighting capabilities through Live Weapon Firing (LWF) exercises conducted in the Arabian Sea, as announced by the Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR) in a press release.
Vice Admiral Muhammad Faisal Abbasi, Commander Pakistan Fleet, presided over the firepower demonstration, where the navy’s FM-90B Surface to Air Missile successfully neutralized an aerial drone target, underscoring PN’s combat potential and operational readiness.
The ISPR highlighted that the LWF exercise aimed to validate PN’s operational plans and evaluate its war preparedness, reflecting the navy’s commitment to ensuring the seaward defence of Pakistan and safeguarding national maritime interests.
Vice Admiral Abbasi commended PN officers for their professionalism during the exercise, which marked the culmination of the sea phase of PN’s maritime exercise SEA SPARK-2024. He reiterated PN’s resolve to defend Pakistan’s sovereignty and protect its maritime boundaries.
The PN’s demonstration adds to the ongoing efforts of all branches of the Pakistani armed forces, including the Pakistan Army and Pakistan Air Force (PAF), in conducting various training exercises to maintain combat readiness and ensure national security.
In parallel, the 7th International Pakistan Army Team Spirit (PATS) Exercise-2024 commenced with an opening ceremony at the National Counter-Terrorism Centre (NCTC) in Pabbi, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (KP). The PATS Exercise is an annual mission-specific and task-oriented military exercise that emphasizes physical fitness, mental agility, and professional military expertise for effective decision-making in challenging missions.
With the participation of 20 friendly countries and military observers, the PATS Exercise underscores Pakistan’s commitment to enhancing military cooperation and readiness among partner nations, fostering regional stability and security.
