PESHAWAR: A group of four robbers, posing as painters, made off with gold ornaments, mobile phones, and other valuables from a wedding house in Peshawar, according to police.
The incident took place within the jurisdiction of the Chimkini police station. The robbers, who had been hired to paint the groom’s room, seized the opportunity to target the home after completing their work. They fled the scene with a significant amount of jewelry, phones, and additional valuables.
SHO Ashfaque Khan of the Chimkini police station reported that the police acted swiftly upon receiving a complaint and successfully apprehended the four individuals involved in the robbery.
During interrogation, one of the suspects revealed that he had not only painted the groom’s room but was also familiar with the layout of the house and the location of the gold jewelry.
Law enforcement has since recovered the stolen items from the robbers, bringing a sense of relief to the victims of this audacious crime.
This incident is reminiscent of another robbery earlier this year in Punjab, where two underage thieves, posing as wedding guests, stole a substantial amount of money and valuable mobile phones. They executed their plan by cutting off the power in the wedding hall, allowing them to steal a bride’s purse and escape unnoticed as the lights went out.
Both cases highlight the increasing concern over security at social events, prompting discussions about measures to enhance safety and prevent such incidents in the future.
Police continue to urge vigilance among event organizers and guests to ensure a secure environment during celebrations.
