Due to the fuel charges adjustment (FCA) for the month of August 2022, the National Electric Electricity Regulatory Authority (NEPRA) is expected to lower the power rate for K-Electric (KE) consumers by Rs4.21 per unit.
Details suggest that the KE consumers may get relief of Rs7.21 billion as K-Electric has requested a reduction for its customers due to a rise in fuel costs for the month of August.
On September 29, NEPRA will hold a public hearing on KE’s request for a lower electricity price. The Karachi people will get a relief of Rs7.21 billion as a result of the permission. The KE customers would not have to pay their electricity payment the next month.
It was reported earlier this month that K-Electric had begun billing Karachi residents on a monthly basis for taxes on behalf of the Karachi Metropolitan Corporation (KMC).
According to details, a memorandum of understanding (MoU) was agreed by K-Electric and Karachi Metropolitan Corporation (KMC) to collect municipal utility charges tax (MUCT) via power bills.
