Interior Minister Mohsin Naqvi convened a crucial session with Chinese Consul General Yang Yundong at the Chinese Consulate in Karachi on Thursday morning.
The purpose of the meeting was to discuss mutual interests and the security of Chinese nationals.
During the session, Minister Naqvi briefed the consul general on security measures concerning Chinese citizens in Pakistan, particularly in Karachi. He reiterated Pakistan’s steadfast commitment to safeguarding the lives and interests of Chinese nationals within the country.
“We hold the security of Chinese citizens in high regard,” Naqvi assured, highlighting the rigorous implementation of standard operating procedures (SOPs) to ensure the movement and protection of Chinese nationals.
“We are duty-bound to provide foolproof security to Chinese citizens,” he emphasized.
In response to concerns regarding security threats, Naqvi emphasized that hostile entities were attempting to disrupt the Pakistan-China friendship.
However, he pledged that Pakistan would counter any such malicious attempts and safeguard the enduring bond between the two nations.
“No plot aimed at harming the Pakistan-China friendship will succeed,” Naqvi asserted.
Consul General Yang Yundong commended the comprehensive security plan presented by Minister Naqvi. He praised Pakistan’s efforts to ensure the safety of Chinese citizens and stressed the importance of continued cooperation to maintain a secure environment for all stakeholders.
Additionally, Interior Secretary Khurram Agha, alongside officials from the Chinese Consulate, participated in the discussions.
