Murtaza Wahab to continue as KMC administrator as Sindh govt refuses to accept resignation

KARACHI: The Sindh government claims that Barrister Murtaza Wahab unreasonably chose to quit in the heat of the moment after being asked to continue serving as the administrator of the Karachi Metropolitan Corporation (KMC).

In a news conference on Wednesday, the Sindh Local Government Minister Nasir Hussain Shah, Information Minister Sharjeel Inam Memon, and Food Minister Mukesh Kumar Chawla all made announcements about this, according to The News.

Following a ruling by the Sindh High Court (SHC) prohibiting K-Electric from charging residents of Karachi municipal taxes through their power bills, Wahab submitted his resignation on Monday.

The local government minister responded to a question by emphasising that Wahab’s resignation from the KMC administrator position had not been accepted by the Sindh government.

Wahab was asked to continue serving as the city’s administrator, according to Sindh Chief Minister Murad Ali Shah.

Wahab’s performance as the KMC administrator was praised, and he made the observation that Wahab had made his departure decision as a result of emotion.
