Karachi: The final results of the Medical and Dental Colleges Admission Test (MDCAT) 2024 retake, compiled by IBA Sukkur, have revealed that only 10 students from Karachi ranked in the top 100. According to the results announced by IBA Sukkur, the majority of Karachi candidates struggled to pass, with only 43.29% of students qualifying for MBBS admissions.
For BDS, the pass rate was slightly higher, with 50.66% of candidates successfully qualifying, according to the MDCAT 2024 results.
A total of 32,200 candidates appeared for the MDCAT 2024 retake, with top scores of 192 marks achieved by students from Ranipur, Badin, Khairpur, and Tharparkar. This retake was ordered by the Sindh High Court (SHC) following complaints of a paper leak, prompting the Sindh government to task IBA Sukkur with conducting the exam.
Meanwhile, the MDCAT 2024 will be held again in Islamabad on December 22, sources confirmed. The Pakistan Medical and Dental Council (PMDC) has been notified about the revised MDCAT 2024 schedule. Final decisions regarding roll numbers and exam centers are expected to be announced next week.
Over 30 examination centers will be set up across Islamabad to accommodate the 17,597 candidates registered for this retake. Registration numbers have seen a significant decline, with only 17,597 candidates now registered, compared to 53,105 initially.
