ISLAMABAD: Civil Judge Asim Hafeez, who is the husband of the woman accused of brutally torturing the 14-year-old domestic worker Rizwana, expressed that due to the intense media trial they were facing, it would be better for them to be slaughtered.
He accused Rizwana’s parents of greed and stated that she was employed at their house for Rs10,000.
Hafeez further mentioned that Rizwana had returned to her parents “on her own feet.” He expressed concern over the damage to their family’s reputation caused by the media trial. And questioned who would repair it if they were proven innocent by the court.
He acknowledged his wife’s psychological problems. But claims that she had never beaten the maid, despite the medico-legal report showing broken bones, and deep wounds of torture. And heavy bruises on different parts of the victim’s body.
Moreover, Rizwana has been receiving treatment for seven days at the Lahore General Hospital. Remains in critical condition, according to doctors.
Additionally, the police add several sections and sub-sections of the first information report (FIR) against the wife of the civil judge. After receiving the medico-legal report detailing the extent of Rizwana’s injuries.
However, A petition has been filed with the Supreme Court Lahore Registry, seeking sou moto action. On the brutal torture of the teenage maid by the judge’s wife.
The petitioner, Advocate Mudassir Chaudhry, emphasized that the incident reveals a serious violation of fundamental rights. Called for a fair and free investigation to ensure justice for the victim.
