The Lahore Press Club (LPC) President, Arshad Ansari, vehemently criticized the Ravi Urban Development Authority’s (RUDA) decision to allocate plots to journalists, labeling it as unjust and discriminatory. Ansari expressed his firm opposition to what he perceives as favoritism and vowed to pursue legal recourse to challenge RUDA’s actions.
According to Ansari, the allocation of plots by RUDA disregards the rights of senior and deserving journalists. He accused RUDA officials of prioritizing personal interests over fairness and accused them of contributing to a culture of corruption under the guise of benefiting journalists.
The LPC, under Ansari’s leadership, condemned RUDA’s approach, arguing that it undermined the legitimate representative body of journalists, the Lahore Press Club. The club decried RUDA’s actions as both legally and morally incorrect, denouncing the perceived favoritism shown to individuals close to RUDA officials.
In response to the perceived injustice, the LPC announced plans to stage a robust protest, involving state media and senior RUDA officials. Additionally, the club initiated consultations with legal experts to explore legal avenues to challenge RUDA’s decision.
The LPC’s stance underscores its commitment to defending the rights and interests of journalists and ensuring transparency and fairness in government initiatives. Ansari’s strong condemnation and the LPC’s proactive approach signal a determined effort to hold RUDA accountable and seek justice for affected journalists.
