JIT Announces Stringent Measures Against Social Media Campaigns Targeting Government Officials and Judges

Islamabad: Ia1response to a concerning surge in social media campaigns targeting government officials and judges, the Joint Investigation Team (JIT) has announced decisive measures against those involved, following two separate meetings held in Islamabad.

The JIT has resolved to take indiscriminate action against all individuals engaged in such activities, emphasizing their commitment to ensuring perpetrators face the full force of the law. Describing these actions as constituting anti-national criminal activity, the team has vowed to reach out to relevant social media platforms to ensure the closure of accounts belonging to those involved.

Expressing grave concern over the potential for such campaigns to incite unrest across the country, the JIT has issued a stern warning to those engaging in these activities. The team emphasizes that individuals found guilty of participating in campaigns against judges and government officials will be held accountable through legal means.

Furthermore, the JIT has reiterated its call for the immediate cessation of such campaigns, highlighting the detrimental impact they can have on the stability and harmony of the nation.

By reaffirming their commitment to upholding the rule of law and protecting the integrity of governmental institutions, the JIT aims to safeguard the pillars of democracy and ensure accountability for those who seek to undermine them.

The announcement of the new JIT comes amidst growing concerns over the spread of misinformation and attempts to manipulate public opinion through deceptive tactics. The caretaker government, in its effort to uphold the integrity of the electoral process and ensure fair and transparent elections, has taken decisive action against slanderous campaigns targeting the election commission and government officials.

A spokesperson for the caretaker government emphasized, “We cannot allow malicious actors to undermine the democratic process through deceitful means.” The formation of the new JIT underscores the government’s commitment to addressing these challenges and maintaining the integrity of democratic institutions.
