KARACHI: Former National Assembly member Hammad Azhar announced his resignation as president of the Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) Punjab chapter on Thursday, according to ARY News.
In a recent post on X (formerly Twitter), Hammad Azhar shared his decision to step down, expressing frustration over his limited access to the party’s founder and his lack of involvement in organizational decisions within Punjab.
He disclosed that many decisions were shaped more by lobbying than by merit, which contributed to his increasing dissatisfaction. Despite these challenges, Azhar stressed that he had not held a press conference or made any deals concerning his resignation.
He also mentioned the difficulties he encounters in his movements, indicating that he is restricted and is not ‘allowed’ to meet the PTI founder in Adiala jail.
Azhar clarified that while he is stepping down from the presidency, he remains committed to PTI as an activist and will continue to support the party’s cause.
