KOHAT: The Grand Jirga, focused on peacekeeping efforts in the region, will meet tomorrow in Kohat under the leadership of Commissioner Motasim Billah to discuss a solution for Kurram.
Jirga members have reported that one party has already signed a 14-point agreement, while the second party has yet to provide its signatures.
During this crucial meeting, significant decisions are expected, especially as the second party has requested a two-day extension for further consultations. The final discussions are set to take place on Tuesday at 11am.
Members of the Jirga are determined to finalize the agreement quickly, stressing that unanimous consent from all parties is essential. There is a strong consensus on the urgent need for mutual cooperation.
Given the ongoing crisis, the Jirga members have highlighted the severe conditions in Kurram District, where over 300 children have tragically lost their lives due to a shortage of medical supplies. The region is also facing critical shortages of fuel, food, and essential medicines, making it even more imperative for swift action and resolution.
