Government Prohibits All Visits to Adiala Jail

All visits to Adiala Jail in Rawalpindi have been suspended until October 18 due to security concerns, a measure that includes visits to Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) Chairman Imran Khan.

Sources have confirmed that the ban on meetings imposed by the Punjab government will remain in effect until October 18 and will also apply to other prisoners at Adiala Jail.

Previously, security agencies expanded their investigations and arrested six additional members of the jail staff for allegedly aiding the PTI founder.

The detained staff members of the jail also included three women, sources said. “The detained jail employees have been included a sweeper, two lady wardens and three CCTV monitoring personnel,” sources said.

Sources indicate that this ban affects all prisoners, prohibiting visits from party leaders, lawyers, and family members, including those wishing to see Imran Khan.

Jail officials attribute the suspension to heightened security measures in Islamabad and Rawalpindi in preparation for the upcoming Shanghai Cooperation Organisation (SCO) event. The decision to halt visits was made by the Punjab government and applies to all inmates at Adiala Jail, not just Imran Khan and Bushra Bibi.
