ISLAMABAD: In a significant bureaucratic reshuffle, the Establishment Division has announced several key appointments following the approval of Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif. Among the notable appointments, Aizaz Aslam, a seasoned 22-grade officer, has been designated as the Secretary of Climate Change, bringing his expertise to this critical portfolio.
Additionally, Ali Tahir, previously serving as Special Secretary in the Establishment Division, has been appointed as Additional Secretary Incharge of Science and Technology, leveraging his extensive experience and administrative acumen in this pivotal area of national development.
In response to these changes, Secretary of Science and Technology, Ali Raza Bhutta, has been instructed to report to the Establishment Division, marking a transition in leadership within the department.
Separate notifications have been issued by the Establishment Division to formalize these appointments, reflecting the government’s commitment to ensuring effective governance and strategic leadership across various sectors.
This reshuffle follows the recent appointment of Rashid Mahmood Langrial as the Secretary of the Power Division on March 17. Langrial, a distinguished BS-21 officer of the Pakistan Administrative Service, brings a wealth of experience to his new role, having previously served as Additional Secretary in the Industries and Production Division. His appointment underscores the government’s efforts to strengthen the power sector and drive forward its agenda for economic growth and development.
