Gang involved in forging fake fingerprints of Karachi citizens busted

In an office located in North Karachi Sector 7C, Karachi police allegedly nabbed a group that was creating phoney citizen fingerprints.

The police in Karachi detained two people who were part of a gang that made false citizen fingerprints. Additionally, the raiding team took back from them Rs1.2 million in cash, more than 250 SIM cards, and duplicate fingerprints.

The gang allegedly operated in the city for a protracted period of time and set up shop in North Karachi Sector 7C.

Police said that the gang had made duplicate fingerprints of several citizens for financial fraud and they used to withdraw money from the bank accounts.

The police also discovered a link between the bank employees and the gang members.

The Federal Investigation Agency (FIA) apprehended a gang in Dera Ghazi (DG) Khan earlier in April who were producing fake silicon thumbs for criminal purposes.

In Punjab’s DG Khan, the FIA cybercrime wing nabbed a group and retrieved more than 3,000 counterfeit printing devices, laptops, and other items.

The gang was in the business of selling phoney silicone thumbprints for illicit purposes.
