Security forces have successfully eliminated four terrorists, including a high-value target, Sana alias Baru, the leader of a terrorist ring, in a major intelligence-based operation (IBO) in Kech District, Balochistan. According to the Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR), the operation, which was carried out based on actionable intelligence, resulted in a fierce firefight between the security forces and the terrorists. The slain militants were members of the notorious Majeed Brigade, a militant group active in the region.
Among those killed was Sana, a key figure responsible for recruiting suicide bombers and orchestrating several deadly attacks. He had long been on Pakistan’s most-wanted list.
During the operation, security forces also recovered a significant cache of weapons and ammunition. A sanitization operation is now underway to ensure that no remaining militants are hiding in the area.
Interior Minister Mohsin Naqvi praised the success of the operation, calling it a decisive blow to efforts by militants to destabilize the region. He commended the dedication and vigilance of Pakistan’s security forces, reaffirming the nation’s full support in the fight against terrorism.
“The security forces remain committed to ensuring the peace, stability, and progress of Balochistan and will continue to confront any terrorist activities aimed at undermining the country’s security,” Naqvi said.
