ISLAMABAD: The Federal Investigation Agency (FIA) denied arresting Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) Senator Saifullah Niazi in Islamabad on Friday.
The news of Saifullah Niazi’s arrest on the basis of the Senate of Pakistan is ‘baseless,’ according to the FIA.
Saifullah Niazi, a senator for the Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI), was earlier reported to have been detained in Islamabad by the Federal Investigation Agency (FIA).
The PTI leader’s fundraising website, it is claimed, is what led to the arrest.
Asad Umar, Fawad Chaudhry, Murad Saeed, and other Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf officials claim that Saifullah was “selected” from the Senate grounds in the meantime.
Fawad Chaudhry, a former minister of communication, urged Senate Chairman Sadiq Sanjrani to pay attention to the situation.
