FC and police personnel were killed in a terrorist attack in Khyber

A tragic terrorist attack on a police checkpost in Khyber district of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa resulted in the martyrdom of a policeman and a Frontier Constabulary official, as confirmed by local authorities.

According to the district police officer (DPO), the attack began when terrorists launched a sudden assault on the Takhta Beg checkpost, unleashing gunfire and firing two rocket launchers. The ensuing exchange of fire escalated into a fierce confrontation between the terrorists and the security forces stationed at the post.

Despite a swift and courageous response from the police and FC personnel, the attackers managed to evade capture during the chaotic firefight.

In response to the incident, security forces swiftly cordoned off the area and initiated a thorough search operation to locate and apprehend the fleeing terrorists.

The loss of the two security officials has deeply saddened and angered the local community and law enforcement agencies alike. Both the policeman and the FC official have been hailed as heroes who made the ultimate sacrifice in service to their country.

Interior Minister Mohsin Naqvi paid homage to the bravery and selflessness of FC soldier Shahzad and policeman Ijaz, emphasizing their role in thwarting the terrorist assault and protecting civilians from harm.

“Shahzad and Ijaz laid down their lives to thwart the terrorist attack. We take pride in the bravery displayed by these two martyrs. The entire nation pays tribute to their courageous actions,” Naqvi remarked.

He reiterated Pakistan’s unwavering commitment to eradicating terrorism through national unity and consensus, highlighting the pivotal role played by Khyber Pakhtunkhwa police, FC officers, and soldiers as frontline defenders in the ongoing battle against terrorism.
