Unidentified assailants destroyed the home of former Senator Saleh Shah in upper South Waziristan on Saturday, according to police reports.
The attackers used explosives to completely demolish the structure.
Following the incident, security forces and police quickly arrived at the scene, cordoning off the area and initiating a search operation.
This isn’t the first instance of Shah’s residence being targeted; his home on Gomal Tank Road has been attacked previously.
Saleh Shah is recognized for his role in facilitating dialogue between the Taliban and the government. The motive behind this latest attack remains unclear as investigations continue.
Shah, who previously played a crucial role in mediating talks between the Tehrik-e-Taliban Pakistan (TTP) and the government, has faced attacks on his property in recent years, including a previous assault on his house in Gomal, Tank. The motives behind this latest attack remain unclear as authorities continue their investigation.
Last month, a remote-controlled bomb blast in South Waziristan injured 10 people, including six police officers. The attack targeted a police vehicle transporting officers to duty.
