Election Commission of Pakistan Takes Firm Stance on Electoral Matters

Islamabad: Election Commission of Pakistan (ECP) has taken significant actions concerning various electoral issues, including the dismissal of an application submitted by independent candidate Ali Ejaz Battar from NA-117 Lahore.

Following the recent elections, the ECP issued a notification confirming the victory of Abdul Aleem Khan, the president of the Istehkam-e-Pakistan Party (IPP), in the NA-117 constituency in Lahore.

In another development, the Commission rejected the application filed by independent candidate Ali Ijaz Batter.

The rejection of Ali Ejaz Battar’s application highlights the ECP’s careful examination of candidates and their qualifications to participate in elections.

The ECP upheld the notification announcing the victory of PML-N’s Anjam Aqeel in NA-46, reaffirming the decision despite previous challenges alleging irregularities in Form 47.

PTI-backed candidate Aamir Masood Mughal had approached the electoral watchdog for a review of the decision.
