KARACHI: On Monday, Federal Minister for Interior Rana Sanaullah said that the culprits of the audio leaks had been found. He also claimed that telephone tapping, not bugging, was the method used to acquire the sound bits.
Aaj Shahzaib Khanzada Ke Saath, a Geo News programme, starred Sanaullah saying, “Under the directives of the prime minister and the National Security Council, an investigation is underway. The results of which will be presented before the premier, and then it will be decided to what extent the findings be shared.”
People “do these things for money as well,” he continued, adding that it was not the work of any agency but rather staff members at the Prime Minister House.
The recent release of audio clips purportedly from an important meeting held in the Prime Minister’s House has raised serious concerns about the security of such a vital government structure.
