The Chinese Consulate in Lahore has allocated a generous grant of Rs 4 million for renovation works at Punjab University’s Oriental College, signaling a significant stride toward enhancing academic infrastructure. During a visit to Punjab University, Chinese Consul General Mr. Zhao Shiren paid a courtesy call on PU Vice Chancellor Prof Dr. Khalid Mahmood, underscoring the growing collaboration between China and Pakistan in the realm of education.
In attendance were Oriental College Principal Prof Dr. Nabeela Rehman, Director of Sports Prof Dr. Zaffar Iqbal Butt, Registrar Dr. Ahmed Islam, Additional Treasurer Rao Muhammad Tahir Rafique, and Chief Engineer Faiz-ul-Hassan Sipra, reflecting a shared commitment to educational advancement. The Chinese delegation expressed a keen interest in enhancing facilities at Punjab University’s Department of Sports, with a specific focus on modernizing amenities for tennis, basketball, badminton, and the swimming pool.
