Former first lady Bushra Bibi will not be joining the Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) in its upcoming protest. PTI leader Sheikh Waqas Akram confirmed this development in a statement on Saturday, clarifying that Bushra Bibi remains focused on her domestic life and has no intention of being involved in public gatherings. “Bushra Bibi is a housewife and will not participate in the protest. This has been under discussion for the past five days,” Akram explained.
He further emphasized that there were no plans for her involvement, reiterating that the former first lady prefers to stay out of political demonstrations.
Echoing similar sentiments, Bushra Bibi’s spokesperson Mashal Yousafzai also dismissed rumors of her participation. Yousafzai stated that the decision is influenced by her health concerns and the demands of her personal life. “Bushra Bibi will not be part of the protest due to her health and other obligations,” she clarified.
These statements aim to put to rest speculations surrounding Bushra Bibi’s role in the embattled party’s activities. PTI has been under significant pressure as it organizes its upcoming protest, with its leadership keen on addressing mounting challenges.
The confirmation of Bushra Bibi’s non-participation highlights her decision to maintain a private role while the party navigates its turbulent political landscape.
