FAISALABAD: On November 11, a TikToker named Nayab was stabbed to death in Faisalabad’s Millat Town. Taimur, the victim’s brother, was the one who reported his brother’s killing to the police.
The police have discovered that the murderer of a TikToker in Faisalabad earlier this month was none other than his brother, who was jealous of his sibling’s fame on the video-sharing TikTok app. This is likely the first incident of its kind, at least in Pakistan.
However, during their investigation, the police discovered that both of the siblings had previously uploaded videos to the TikTok app, which allows users to share short videos.
Taimur, on the other hand, was jealous of Nayab because he had more followers than Taimur.
Resultantly, Taimur killed his brother with a knife.
The psychologists’ comments on the terrifying incident suggested that youth were being negatively affected by using social media excessively.
Dr. Kulsoom claimed that teens who use TikTok and similar apps frequently were developing mental illnesses and frequently lost their lives in the quest for fame.
She urged the parents to take responsibility for this situation.
Stress, isolation, anger, depression, and other negative emotions can endanger your child’s life. According to a recent study, teens who use social media and smartphones frequently are more likely to exhibit depressive symptoms and engage in suicidal behaviour.
