ITP has started a campaign against those who park their cars improperly and obstruct the flow of traffic by using footpath spaces.
Dr. Syed Mustafa Tanweer, SSP (Traffic), is supervising the operation and has created special teams to combat unlawful parking. For a quick response, the department has added troops for several zones.
To ensure the success of the campaign, additional strength has been deployed to various zones while special squads have been established to check for illegal parking. All zonal DSPs have been instructed by the SSP (Traffic) to guarantee the implementation of traffic regulations and to take legal action against anyone responsible for causing issues with traffic enforcement in the city. According to the SSP (Traffic), pedestrians have the right to use footpaths and parking is not permitted in those areas. Several automobiles were seized at the police station for failing to clear walkways.
The SSP (Traffic), Dr. Syed Mustafa Tanveer, stated that keeping traffic discipline is our top priority, and we would utilise all reasonable efforts to achieve this goal.
