Balochistan observes geological changes in land

The recent rains have caused geological changes in numerous parts of Balochistan. Prof. Deen Muhammad Kakar, a geology expert, reported that over 10,000 tube wells were put in over the course of several decades, which caused the subsurface water level to drop to a dangerous level and resulted in geological changes.

According to Deen Muhammad Kakar, areas hit by heavy rainfall and flooding are more susceptible to earthquakes. He also mentioned that the Geology Department just has installed 10 modern seismic monitoring devices in Dara Korak and Killa Abdullah amid reports of numerous landslides and land fissure incidences in various Balochistan areas.
