Arshad Sharif: Government forms Three-member committee to probe killing

A high-level committee made up of three members has been established by the federal government to look into the murder of Arshad Sharif, a respected journalist and former anchor for ARY News.

According to information, a three-person committee made up of agents from the Federal Investigation Agency (FIA), Intelligence Bureau (IB), and Inter-Services Intelligence (ISI) will look into the murder of Arshad Sharif.

The committee will go to Kenya to help the Pakistani High Commission there with the investigation. After the investigation is over, the committee will deliver a report to the interior minister.

Arshad Sharif, a top journalist who was killed, was carried aboard a private airliner that reached Islamabad International Airport.
The General Headquarters (GHQ), the command post for Pakistan’s land forces, requested the creation of a commission to look into the killing of the prominent journalist in a letter to the federal government.

According to reports, the General Headquarters (GHQ) has requested the creation of a commission to investigate the circumstances surrounding the murder of Arshad Sharif by Kenyan police in Nairobi.

The GHQ has encouraged the government to take legal action against anyone making unfounded accusations.

Sharif, a senior journalist who was killed in an accident on the outskirts of Nairobi, Kenya, on Sunday night, accepted martyrdom.

He was travelling from the country’s Magadi town to Nairobi when the tragedy happened.

According to Kenyan media, Arshad Sharif and his driver allegedly violated a roadblock and were then shot in the head and killed by police.

According to the police, who were cited by the Kenyan media when describing the incident, the manned roadblock had information to stop a car that Arshad Sharif and his driver were in after a carjacking incident in Nairobi where a child was allegedly taken, hostage.

Arshad Sharif, a seasoned journalist, was a leading news anchor in Pakistan. Arshad’s final appearance on national television was on the ARY News program Powerplay.
