Three officials from the Anti-Terrorism Force (ATF) were killed in an ambush by armed assailants while traveling in a police vehicle on the D.I. Khan National Highway in Zhob, Balochistan, on Wednesday.
According to police reports, the attackers opened fire indiscriminately on the ATF vehicle. One officer was killed instantly, and three others sustained injuries. All were promptly transported to Zhob Hospital. Unfortunately, two of the injured officials later succumbed to their wounds, raising the death toll to three, while one remains hospitalized. The deceased have been identified as Amir Muhammad Mangalzai Sherani and Shafiqullah.
In response to the attack, Federal Interior Minister Mohsin Naqvi condemned the violence and honored the fallen officers, expressing heartfelt condolences to their families.
Balochistan Chief Minister Sarfaraz Bugti also condemned the incident, expressing deep sorrow over the loss of the ASI and calling for the swift capture of those responsible. He extended his condolences to the family of the martyred ASI, praying for their strength in this difficult time.
