The Federal Police have confirmed the death of another injured Ranger officer. Lance Naik Muhammad Tanveer, a member of Pakistan Rangers Punjab, succumbed to injuries he sustained during the violent protests on November 25 and 26.
The 37-year-old officer, a resident of Narowal district, had been in a coma after suffering severe injuries during the unrest. He had served the nation for 17 years and is survived by his wife, two sons, and three daughters. His martyrdom brings the total number of Rangers personnel killed in the protests to four, alongside two officials from Punjab Police.
The protests, allegedly led by PTI workers under the guise of demonstrations, led to significant loss of life and property. Government assets were targeted and set ablaze at multiple locations, resulting in extensive damage.
In addition to the fatalities, around 119 Punjab Police officers and 11 Islamabad Police officers were injured, many severely. Videos circulating on social media have captured the scale of vandalism and destruction that occurred during the protests.
Authorities have vowed to take strict legal action against those responsible for the violence. Law enforcement agencies are actively working to identify and apprehend the perpetrators to ensure justice is served.
