ISLAMABAD: The National Database and Registration Authority (NADRA) has released version 5.7.4 of its PakID mobile application, introducing several new features designed to simplify identity-related services and improve accessibility for citizens.
The latest update includes a dedicated Federal Investigation Agency (FIA) section that will support the future registration and tracking of FIA-related complaints through the application.
Moreover, NADRA has simplified the procedure for adding family members when information appearing on a Family Registration Certificate (FRC) remains incomplete.
The changes aim to make digital identity services easier to access while reducing difficulties citizens may encounter during online applications.
PakID Introduces Automatic Signature Cropping
The updated application now provides an automatic signature-cropping feature, allowing users to adjust signatures more conveniently while completing their applications.
Additionally, the feature could simplify document submission by reducing the need for users to manually prepare signature images before uploading them.
NADRA has continued expanding PakID as a digital platform through which citizens can access identity-related services without repeatedly visiting registration centres.
Digital CNIC, NICOP and POC Available Through App
Meanwhile, the latest PakID version provides digital versions of Computerised National Identity Cards (CNICs), National Identity Cards for Overseas Pakistanis (NICOPs) and Pakistan Origin Cards (POCs).
The application also continues to provide printing and delivery services for identity documents.
Consequently, users can access an expanding range of NADRA services through their smartphones while managing applications and related documentation digitally.
Furthermore, NADRA has invited citizens to provide suggestions about additional features they would like the authority to introduce in future PakID versions.
The feedback initiative could help NADRA identify user requirements as it continues developing the application and expanding digital access to identity services across Pakistan.
The PakID update represents another step towards moving public identity services onto digital platforms and reducing dependence on physical processing.
