The National Database and Registration Authority has announced free biometric updates for Pakistani citizens and overseas Pakistanis.
Under the new facility, citizens can update their biometric information without paying any charges. The service includes fingerprints, a new facial photograph and an iris scan.
NADRA said keeping biometric records updated can strengthen identity verification and help reduce risks associated with identity theft and fraud.
Updated Biometrics To Ease Verification
Updated biometric information can also help citizens avoid difficulties during several verification processes. These include banking transactions, obtaining new mobile SIM cards and processing proof-of-life certificates.
NADRA has encouraged citizens to take advantage of the free facility and keep their identity records updated.
The authority has particularly advised children between three and 18 years old who do not have a photograph-bearing B-Form to update their biometric information.
Holders of lifetime-valid National Identity Cards have also been encouraged to use the facility.
Citizens Can Visit NADRA Registration Centres
Citizens can update their biometric data free of charge by visiting their nearest NADRA registration office. They can also use NADRA counters established at Union Councils or mobile registration vans operating in their areas.
The initiative covers Pakistani citizens across the country as well as overseas Pakistanis, making biometric updates more accessible to a wider group of identity document holders.
NADRA said the facility would make it easier for citizens to maintain updated biometric records. It could also help ensure smoother access to identity verification services whenever biometric authentication is required.
The authority has urged eligible citizens to benefit from the facility and update their records through designated NADRA services.
