ISLAMABAD: On Tuesday, the Law and Justice Ministry made a recommendation to extend the Supreme Court judge’s perks and privileges to Syed Ihtesham Qadir Shah, the Prosecutor General of the National Accountability Bureau (NAB).

The ministry proposed that all privileges, except those granted to retired Supreme Court judges, be provided.
The ministry also stated that the approval of the Finance Division was necessary for this matter and requested the division to endorse the recommendation and present it to the federal cabinet for approval.
Additionally, the ministry suggested that Sohail Nasir, the NAB deputy chairman, should receive the perks and privileges of a high court judge. Sohail Nasir was appointed as NAB’s deputy chairman with the cabinet’s approval on October 10.
Subsequently, the National Accountability Bureau submitted a proposal, recommending that Sohail Nasir be entitled to a salary package, perquisites, and fringe benefits in line with those granted to a high court judge.
The Law Ministry recommended that he should receive the pay, perks, and privileges that are applicable to a high court judge.

Meanwhile, three PTI women leaders, including Andleeb Abbas, Sadia Sohail, and Sumaira Bokhari, have declared their decision to join IPP after a meeting with Patron-in-Chief Jahangir Tareen today. Aun Chaudhry was also present during the meeting.
Andleeb Abbas, speaking to journalists, emphasized that no political party or personality is greater than the national cause. She highlighted the challenging political and economic situation in Pakistan and its direct connection to the well-being of the common citizens.
Abbas stated their commitment to moving forward, leaving behind their past affiliations, with a clear objective of working for the betterment of the common people.
Sadia Sohail added that they have prioritized national interests over political party affiliations and are dedicated to helping the people overcome their difficulties.
